Isn't She Lovely?

I don't think I have to tell you how much I love my little girl.... right? Isn't she lovely?!

Now that it is the four of us at home in a more or less regular pattern I feel like I finally have a chance to really get to know my daughter. That may sound strange but with all the hospital visits, the holidays, our visitors, the new year and all that going on it just felt like I was being lived, out of touch, out of control, off balance, off track. Something like that anyway.... Now that I have gone back to work, our house is back to normal, I feel like everything is back on track. Also, Lorelei went to the pediatrician last week and she had gained a lot of weight, there were no more strange sounds in her lungs, and everything else seems OK too. In other words she seems to be doing great.

I already kind of knew that but it feels good to have that confirmed by the pediatrician. She weighed 3660 grams last week which means she gained over 600 grams in less than two weeks!!! That, of course, is because she is drinking so well. When she is awake she is very alert. She sleeps well. In other words, she is finally behaving like a normal baby. That is just great!

I am still recovering though, as I guess all of us are. I catch myself checking her temperature whenever I get her out of bed. Lisa talks about weird thoughts and dreams and Tobias still needs lots of attention. Also, I am totally 100% exhausted at times... This whole week I haven't gone to bed much later than 21:00...

I guess, if you really think about it, it was quite an ordeal we have been through......

I have been checking everyday for an update so thanks for this blog. I am so happy for ya'll. Having my own I know how tough, scary, tiring, overwhelming all of this can be and ya'll's was compounded by so much more. Enjoy your little one. I am amazed how quickly Austin has grown in 7 short weeks. Lorelei will be changing overnight. Enjoy!

She looks wonderful - and like her dad and brother in that photo!

Of course you are exhausted! It has been a long haul for all of you! I am just so happy it is now all going well - about time!

Allow yourself some time to relax and rest and don't worry about being over cautious with Lorelei, you have good reason!

I will have to come and meet her soon - I am just waiting for mine to come out, and they don't seem to be in a hurry! Now two days overdue!

Take care
Miranda
